U.S. policy makers have the tools to address the debt crisis in Puerto Rico. Some of these tools can be immediately deployed to alleviate the crisis, while others are necessary to address the medium-to-long term challenges that Puerto Rico is facing. ERI – PR funds non-partisan educational studies, research and analysis of the issues facing Puerto Rico.
ERI – PR is engaged in in-depth examinations and discussions of broad the social and economic problems facing Puerto Rico and will make requests for technical advice from experts.
ERI-PR believes that policies must be put in place that allow for the responsible restructuring of the debt of the Puerto Rican government. Further, we believe that Puerto Rico’s governing structures must be reformed through the creation of an administrative authority that will reform the governance of the island.
